Requesting books and media from Ohio libraries

What is an Interlibrary loan?
If an item you are looking for is not available through our catalog, you may be able to borrow the item from another library through a service called Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
What is SearchOhio?
SearchOhio is a consortium of public libraries in the state of Ohio that provides borrowing access to millions of library materials. Patrons can request an item from another Ohio public library in the consortium and pick it up at your home library. SearchOhio offers you direct online requesting of millions of books, music and movies from over 26 member public libraries in Ohio.
What is OhioLINK?
With OhioLink, you can gain access to 50 million books and library materials from 89 Ohio college and university libraries and the State Library of Ohio. Search OhioLink for books, periodicals, electronic resources and other items in OhioLINK member libraries.
How to get started?
Go to the OhioLINK or SearchOhio catalog by clicking the links above. Search for desired item. When item is located, click REQUEST THIS ITEM. Choose Clark County Public Library from the drop-down list. Enter your NAME and LIBRARY CARD NUMBER. Choose the pick-up location. Click SUBMIT.
How can I check on the status of my Interlibrary loan?
Track the progress of your request by watching its status on your MY ACCOUNT record. When the item is ready for you to pick-up, the statues will show HELD and you will receive a courtesy notice.
How long will my Interlibrary loan take to arrive?
Items are usually available within 3-5 business days. Items remain at the pick location for 10 days.
How long can I keep my Interlibrary loan?
Loan period is 21 days for print items and 7 days for media. Renewal options vary. Overdue fine is 50 cents per day for OhioLINK items. An item not returned within 30 days of due date will incur a replacement fee.
