Join retired USAF pilot/instructor Jack Mecham for a historical overview of the Aviation Cadets Program, from its inceptions in 1917 to its termination in the 1960s. This program was the backbone of the Air Force for half a century as it provided flying personnel in times of need. For all ages. This program will take place in the Gaier Room of the Main Library. Jack Mecham entered the Aviation Cadet Pilot Training Program in February of 1954. Upon graduation, he became an instructor for B-25 pilot training. He has had a long and varied career in the field of aviation. Jack retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1974 and the aerospace industry in 1996.
